Chalk , crayon and watercolour, dated 55, on paper. 3 1/4ins x 14ins ( 20cms x 25.5cm)
John Craxton spent alot of time in Greece , where he painted the landscape and it's people. His studies of the fisherfolk or traditional dancers are some of his most important works.
Here he has created a semi abstract study of a beach. These forms and colours can be seen in other works of the same period by Craxton.
