Muller visited Rhodes on his way to Egypt through Athens in 1838. He returned to England in March 1839.
In 1843 he went East again as part of the Lycian Expedition. During his short life Muller travelled widely in Europe and England,as well, he sadly died of a heart attack in 1845.
Muller was a brilliant painter in both oils and watercolour.
